Deschamps sign new contract, lead France defending world cup

Didier Deschamps is going to lead France to defend 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The new contract for the main coach which has been confirmed in a press conference in Paris comes as a reward for former defensive midfielder, for his continuous success leading the national team, it was signed with Euro 2020, but the contract was extended for two and half year in order to continue his mission in next world cup.

World cup starts in Qatar from 21 November until 18 December, if Deschamps last until that time, he will have already spent a time in his position.

“Deschamps’s goal is to reach Euro 2020 finale, but we know it’s not completely easy, all teams improve very fast, the draw wasn’t very good for us, so we have to pass the group stage first ”   Noel Le Graet President of the French Football Federation.

With assigning him in July 2012 he got a two years contract, supervising the national team in Euro 2016 where they lost the finale, against Portugal at their ground, then the French national team won world cup 2018 2 -4 against Croatia.

Deschamps was coach of French national team who won 1998 FIFA World Cup, and played with Marseille and Juventus, and won UEFA Champions League with both.
